It's been awhile since I've seen a Terrence Malick film but Nicolas Winding Refn's VALHALLA RISING strikes me as a Malick-ish vision of an ancient Norse story. Contemplative in it's quiet scenery of nature but then blunt in it's depiction of violence. I could be way off on this comparison.
