Finally had a chance to go to the 555 Steakhouse right across the street from my place in downtown Long Beach. Very swank place inside moody darkness about the ambient lighting and dark woods that line the walls and counters. Food quality is definitly top notch as well. Started with crab bisc but had hoped it would of the cream kind. It was a tomato base but good nonetheless. Not overly flavored but not screaming crab as well. The steak and garlic mashed potatoes were overly spiced. Potatoes were on the salty side and the steak was just jacked with pepper corns. Flavor was there but I could taste the quality ingredients gasping for chance to impress me. Chocolate soufle was excellent - crisp outer shell hiding a pool of molten chocolate in bed of moist cake.
