A quick cap of last weekend: After Deion spent the night at my place we reunited with everyone (Kathy’s family, Mom, and Grandma) at Ed Manko’s house I Huntington Beach (Ed is our family financial advisor). His wife Kim, as usual, prepared a fabulous lunch of both Vietnamese foods and of coarse our family’s favorite, sushi. I enjoyed the green papaya salad with bits of beef jerky and liver jerky – my 1st taste of such a concoction. The shrimp spring rolls with peanut butter dipping sauce was also a tasty, and light, eat. For dessert there was a fruit tart and peach melba pie. We all ate so much and to burn those calories off we headed for the beach where Don, Deion, and I went boogie boarding – good fun but for some reason my armpits burned in the red tide water (much in the same way they burned when I dipped into the sulfur rich hot springs of Japan).
